How to Make a Bijou Cocktail
Some people say that the Bijou cocktail is like a gin sour on steroids. It's got all the classic flavours of a gin sour, but with a little extra kick thanks to the orange bitters and the sweet grenadine. The name "bijou" means "jewels" in French, and it is thought that the name may have been chosen because the colours of the ingredients in the cocktail (red grenadine, yellow lemon juice, and clear gin) resemble jewels. She’s a popular choice at cocktail parties, and is often served as an aperitif before dinner.

Bartender’s Tip
If you're not a fan of gin, you can always try making a bijou cocktail with your favorite spirit instead. Just be warned: it might not taste quite as jewel-like as the original version.
