How to Make an Amaretto Sour Cocktail

If you’re ready for a cocktail that is bright, refreshing, sweet and sour – the Amaretto Sour is the cocktail for you. The origin story of Amaretto tells of a 16th-century affair between a widow, Reina, and a painter, Lazzaroni. The widow made the first amaretto liqueur for her new lover and kept the recipe secret; it was handed down through the generations, and is now marketed as Disaronno. This is what is referred to as Amaretto, made from the pits of almonds and apricots, lending a distinct almond flavour with subtle cherry undertones. Get stuck in!
