How to Make a Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri Cocktail
The original Daiquiri comes from Cuba, but the Strawberry Daiquiri is a different story. It has popped up in many places because it doesn’t take a degree to know that putting rum and strawberries together is a fine idea, or that this cocktail is oh so easy to make at home!
Served in — Martini Glass or Coupe Glass
Garnish — Strawberry or mint leaves
Ingredients
45ml White Rum (We suggest Bacardi Carta Blanca)
15ml Cointreau
30ml Fresh Lime Juice
15ml Simple (Sugar) Syrup
5 Fresh Strawberries
Sliced Strawberry to Garnish
Half a Cup of Ice
Method
You can make this in a cocktail shaker, but it's best done in a blender.
Add white Rum, Cointreau, strawberries, lime juice, sugar syrup and ice to blender
Blend until smooth
Pour into a chilled cocktail glass
Garnish with a strawberry or slice of lime
Bartender’s Advice
Simple sugar syrup is ridiculously easy to make and since it lasts a while in the fridge, we can make one large batch and go back to it each time we want to make a cocktail. In a medium saucepan, combine equal parts white sugar with water in a pot. Stir on medium heat, until the sugar has dissolved. Note, do not allow the sugar to boil, as this is when we begin to see caramelisation. Allow to cool or refrigerate for later use (within 1 month).
